Again many thanks to Harry Nicodem and his staff for sponsoring and expertly maintaining our web site and making our presence known at Kelly Lake and beyond.
Our club, in this format, started in 1977. But in the history archives, a Kelly Lake Sportsman's Club existed back in the 50's and early 60's. I guess we have been around a long, long time. Our non-profit organization strives to help keep our environment a clean and safe place for all living things to exist. As conservationists, we sponsor many community programs along with stocking fish in Kelly Lake and planting game birds in the wild.
The Kelly Lake Sportsman’s Club also sponsors many fund raisers and community activities throughout the year. Each spring we organize an Earth Day clean up. Volunteers gather and pick up garbage and winter debris from the roadways around Kelly Lake. After the job is complete the workers are treated to a pizza lunch. In June the Club holds their annual Helping Hands Day. Oconto County area physically and/or mentally challenged citizens are invited to participate. Trout fishing, horse and wagon rides, mini golf, games, and a picnic treat our special guests. This event is a favorite, and we all have fun helping each other.
This year our High School Scholarship winner is Megan Stranz of Oconto Falls. Megan plans to attend UW Stevens Point and will major in Natural Resources. We are so proud to sponsor her and have an ongoing Scholarship Program in place for each year.
Our fish stocking program and wild bird planting has enhanced the area again this year. With all of the fund raisers the club has sponsored, we were able to increase the amount of dollars to this yearly project.
Thank you for making “Kelly Lake” the greatest place on earth!
